FA Premier League Predictions – Week 28

Welcome back to Premier League fixtures as we head to week 28. The last week seems such a long time ago and to be honest a not great week prediction wise. Four correct results only last week. Victories for Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool whilst it was a 1-1 draw between Stoke and Brighton.

This weekend sees some big clashes in the League whilst Arsenal and Man City clash in the League Cup final.

  1.                        Bournemouth   1-2  Newcastle Utd   The Toon squash the Cherries
  2.                                 Brighton    0-2  Swansea             The Swansea recovery continues
  3.                                   Burnley   1-2 Southampton     Claret woes as Saints win
  4.                        Crystal Palace   0-3 Tottenham          Spurs continue on the march
  5.                        Leicester City    1-1 Stoke City            Another draw for the Foxes
  6.                               Liverpool    3-0 West Ham            Reds storm to win
  7.                                 Man Utd    1-2 Chelsea                Blues give Jose woes
  8.                            West Brom     2-0 Huddersfield      Baggies bounce back
  9.                                 Watford     2-2 Everton               Draw at the Vicarage

Some interesting clashes and results this week featuring the top and bottom teams in crucial games. Liverpool host West Ham as they look to strengthen their Champions League qualification whilst Tottenham travel to Crystal Palace. The Lilywhites should take the points but we know that Palace have the ability to dent many clubs plans. Man Utd host Chelsea in what should be an interesting affair, but with United recently seemingly off par, I feel Jose’s old club will take the victory.

Tricky ones too especially with some of the teams threatened with relegation fighting it out. Bournemouth and Newcastle Utd battle it it out a win for the Cherries will move them closer to security whilst the Toon will move level with Bournemouth should they win and that’s what I have predicted. A win for the Saints will do the south club a bit better whilst Stoke will be no better off with a draw against Leicester.

Lets see how things have panned out come Sunday evening.

FA Premier League Predictions Week 27

Another weekend of goals and and it was also a case of Merseyside v London which saw a win for North London and a draw. Everton got a pummeling down south whilst Spurs stole a draw in the death featuring some questionable decisions. The penalty decision at Anfield turned a correct score prediction into nothing. For the Arsenal, it seems I wasn’t quite as generous in my predictions. My prediction was 2-1, but the Arsenal routed Everton 5-1. Apparently Everton fans were piling out before half time. Then of course my prediction of the Watford v Chelsea game, that couldnt have been more wrong. The Blues were trounced 4-1 having been down to 10 men after 30 minutes. To be fair the game was 1-1 till the 84th minute when Chelsea fell apart like an England Ashes batting line up.

It was two correct results and a correct score. Arsenal’s win added to the Swansea v Leicester ending in a 1-1 draw and not a 2-2 draw gave two correct results, whilst Man Utd bounced back to give a correct score as they beat Huddersfield 2-0.

So to this weekends predictions and lets see if I can do better this week.

  1.                                          Chelsea   2-1 West Brom        Blues back on track
  2.                                         Everton   0-2  Crystal Palace  Eagles give Blues headache
  3.                                Huddersfield   1-2  Bournemouth  Cherries away win
  4.                                       Man City    2-0  Leicester City  Another home win on the board
  5.                              Newcastle Utd   1-1  Man Utd           Magpies hold the Reds
  6.                               Southampton    0-3 Liverpool          Klopps reds thrash hosts
  7.                                      Stoke City    2-2 Brighton            honours even
  8.                                Swansea City    1-2 Burnley             Clarets hold Swans rise
  9.                                    Tottenham    1-3  Arsenal             Gunners glory in derby
  10.                                     West Ham    1-1  Watford            Hammers hold Watford to draw

Some interesting predictions with the interesting one being the North London derby. A couple of weeks ago I’d have said a home win, but with the signings that Arsenal made and the way they took apart Everton, I think with the space at Wembley will give the Gunners some ability to cause the defence some issues. If they can get at the Spurs defence as Liverpool did through Salah, I think that will be them taking the win.

Man Utd travel to Newcastle Utd, but I think the Magpies might just throw a spanner in the works. Man Utd should be favourites, but if Newcastle can dig in, then they can steal a point against the Reds. On the subject of Reds, Liverpool will put the disappointment of the 2-2 draw and storm to a 3-0 win on the south coast.

More disappointment for Everton as they lose to London opposition, this time at home to Crystal Palace. Fellow strugglers Swansea look certain to lose at home against Burnley who have impressed greatly this season.

FA Premier League Predictions – Week 26

Well, week 25 was a midweek round to forget as only I only managed one correct score and one correct result. I mean given the fixtures for the midweek, I would have expected a few more correct results if not scores. It didn’t help that four of the midweek games would finish as draws considering the teams involved. I mean Stoke and Watford playing out a goalless draw. Would never have expected that one. I had predicted a 2-2 draw between Spurs and Man Utd but saw a 2-0 Spurs win whilst Chelsea went awol and lost 3-0 at the Bridge.

Anyway I would like to think that week 26 will be better, well it can’t get any worse….actually it probably could. Some big games this weekend as Liverpool host Spurs, the Swans looking to build their relegation escape with a trip to Leicester  with other ties featuring fellow strugglers West Brom face Southampton. So lets see how I get on this weekend.

  1.                                      Arsenal   2-1    Everton          Much needed win for Arsenal
  2.                                      Burnley  1-3    Man City         City move another step closer
  3.                           Bournemouth  2-0    Stoke City        Cherries on the charge
  4.                                    Brighton   1-2    West Ham       Crucial win for Hammer
  5.                           Crystal Palace   2-1   Newcastle        Eagles bag the points
  6.                            Leicester City   2-2  Swansea           Honours even
  7.                                   Liverpool   2-1   Tottenham      Liverpool dent Spurs
  8.                                     Man Utd   2-0   Huddersfield   Man Utd return to winning ways
  9.                                      Watford   1-1   Chelsea            Watford take point, woes for Conte
  10.                                 West Brom   2-1   Southampton  Baggies win, Saints struggling

An interesting mix of results which I hope will bring good fortune this week. It’s a good job I don’t bet on the games.
